Last Night....

Last night dinner was really good. I ate WAY too much as usual. But everyone enjoyed it a lot, which is the important part. Today is Doug's actual birthday but he has to work tonight. So that is why we did dinner last night instead.

I was reading on AOL about students in California who banned the Pledge of allegiance at their meetings and so forth. You can read it here. There are a lot of students in an uproar over this. And I would have to agree. The Pledge is a tradition. We removed God from schools and they are trying to remove God from everywhere else, so my question then becomes where does he belong? In Florida there are some churches that use school cafeterias as their meeting places on Sundays. If God doesn't belong in schools then why is the school board and state allowing this? Personally, I think that God belongs everywhere. It isn't like you can ban him from places, he is everywhere and in everything.

What is so wrong about pledging allegiance to the government of the country you live in? And to God? There is a saying that I truly believe " There are no atheists in fox holes". Ever since we have started yanking God out of places this country has declined. It is like we are saying it is okay to have no morals and no values. You can rape and murder, we don't mind. You can steal and do other terrible things. Think about this, in the 50's when there was a moral standard in this country, were there as many problems as there are today? Yes, there were issues and prosperity did bring new issues to deal with, however, back then everyone knew wrong from right and didn't blame their parents for their mistakes. Now, the cool thing is not to take responsibility for yourself and blame everyone else.

I love this country, but I hate what it has become. And what we have become as a people.
